Tabula Rasa means “blank slate.” For us, it represents the possibility of a new chapter—and the care it takes to begin one.

Founder & Managing Director
Taihisa founded Tabula Rasa Immigration Services with a personal understanding of what it means to build a life across borders. Originally from Dominica in the Caribbean, her own journey has taken her to the United States, where she studied, Trinidad and Tobago, where she lived for a couple of years, and ultimately Canada. Immigration, adaptation, and building a life in a new country were therefore part of her own story long before they became part of her professional work.
Her professional background is equally multidimensional, spanning geology, geographic information systems (GIS), international consulting, immigration practice, business development, and entrepreneurship. This breadth of experience shapes the way she approaches immigration matters: analytically, strategically, and with an understanding that an immigration decision rarely exists in isolation from a person’s career, family, finances, and longer-term goals.
Her academic research into immigrant wealth and economic outcomes has further deepened that perspective. For Taihisa, immigration is not simply about reaching Canada or securing an approval—it is also about what happens after arrival. That broader perspective informs her interest in helping clients consider immigration pathways in the context of their long-term settlement, economic well-being, and ability to build a successful life in Canada.
At the heart of her work is a simple principle: every immigration journey is personal. Your story should be understood, your options carefully considered, and your next step taken with clarity and purpose.

Immigration is global, and the people we serve bring different languages, cultures, professions, and lived experiences to their Canadian journey.
Tabula Rasa collaborates with a network of immigration consultants and other professionals who bring diverse areas of expertise, cultural perspectives, and language capabilities to our work. Through these professional collaborations, we are able to draw on a broader range of knowledge and experience when a client’s circumstances call for it.
Language capabilities within our extended professional network include Mandarin, Hindi, Tibetan, French, Spanish, and a range of African languages, alongside experience with clients and immigration matters from different regions of the world.
This collaborative approach allows us to remain focused on what matters most: understanding the person behind the application and bringing the right knowledge, perspective, and professional support to their journey.
